It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin Subaih said: “I heard Muhammad bin Sirin say: It was mentioned in the presence of ‘Imran bin Husain that the deceased is punished due to the weeping of the living.’ ‘Imran said: “The Messenger of Allah said it.”

أخبرنا محمود بن غيلان، قال حدثنا أبو داود، قال حدثنا شعبة، عن عبد الله بن صبيح، قال سمعت محمد بن سيرين، يقول ذكر عند عمران بن حصين الميت يعذب ببكاء الحى فقال عمران قاله رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم .
