Narrated `Amr bin Maimun: I saw `Umar, offering the Fajr (morning) prayer at Jam’; then he got up and said, “The pagans did not use to depart (from Jam’) till the sun had risen, and they used to say, ‘Let the sun shine on Thabir (a mountain).’ But the Prophet contradicted them and departed from Jam’ before sunrise.”
Hadith In Arabic Text :
حدثنا حجاج بن منهال، حدثنا شعبة، عن أبي إسحاق، سمعت عمرو بن ميمون، يقول شهدت عمر رضى الله عنه صلى بجمع الصبح، ثم وقف فقال إن المشركين كانوا لا يفيضون حتى تطلع الشمس، ويقولون أشرق ثبير. وأن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم خالفهم، ثم أفاض قبل أن تطلع الشمس.
